Miami, Fl, June 1, 2011    South Florida is living on borrowed time says Omar Fagundo, President of All World Shutters, based in Hialeah, Fl.  Like many other vulnerable cities, Miami is overdue for a major tropical system of Category 3 or higher strength.  Omar Fagundo believes people are becoming complacent.
"Most of my clients are buying shutters to receive a discount from their insurance companies, and secondly for protection.  Whereas a few years ago, I sensed a lot more concerned for the destructive power of the hurricane."

Last year saw an above average hurricane season with 19 named storms, 12 of which were hurricane strength.  The State of Florida was spared the wrath of any storms, but officials are telling people to get ready for another above average year.

It's better to prepare early than to wait until we are in the "Cone" of danger.  Make sure to get all necessary supplies, of which hurricane shutters may be the most important.
